Thank you for visiting us at the Original Pancake House in North Carolina!  We are a locally owned and operated restaurant.  Unlike many franchises, each Original Pancake House restaurant is truly unique in its look, feel and menu selection.  What we share in our franchise is a passion for the highest quality ingredients and our generation’s old recipes. The First Original Pancake House was founded in 1953 by Lester Highet and Erma Hueneke in Portland, Oregon. Drawing upon their many years of experience in the culinary field, Lester and Erma created the core of this unique and original menu that remains true to its origins to this day. Our recipes are made by hand from scratch daily and are authentic and original. The preparation of our food takes extra time and special care so please be patient as you wait for your meal – the extra time is well worth the wait as nothing replaces freshness and quality ingredients for great taste.
